Depeche nomineret til årets gruppe ved MTV EMA

Depeche Mode er blevet nomineret til årets gruppe ved MTV Europe Music Awards, der afholdes 2. November i København med Justin Timberlake som vært. De andre nomirede i kategorien er The Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Pussycat Dolls og Keane.

DEPECHE MODE – TOURING THE ANGEL: LIVE IN MILAN
CPH:DOX afvikles i år i en række af de Københavnske biografer – fra 10.-19. november. Vanen tro vil det endelige program indeholde et særligt program med spektakulære musikfilm. Som optakt til festivalen i november præsenterer vi en forpremiere på filmen Depeche Mode – Touring The Angel: Live in Milan.

Den 25. februar i år lagde Depeche Mode godt 40.000 fans ned i Parken. Kun Dave Gahans bare overkrop manglede for gøre festen fuldendt. CPH:DOX giver dig nu mulighed for at genopleve Dave Gahan og de andre drenge i Depeche Mode på det det store lærred i 5.1 surround sound.

Den 9. september, to uger før den officielle release dato - 25. september, inviterer vi dig til koncertfilmen Depeche Mode – Touring The Angel: Live in Milan i Grand Teatret, København. Filmen vises kun denne ene gang på det store lærred.

Optaget over to aftener, på Milano’s Fila Forum den 18. og 19. februar 2006, bliver vi vidner til Depeche Mode’s første turné i fire år. Turnéen blev hyldet af pressen som en af de bedste live optrædener fra Depeche Mode nogensinde. Touring the Angel was probably the most enjoyable, rewarding live show we've ever done, says Dave Gahan. The new material was just waiting to be played live. It took on a life of its own. With the energy of the crowds, it just came to life.

Instruktøren Blue Leach, der tidligere har arbejdet med R.E.M., formår at overføre energien fra koncerten til biografgængeren.We worked with Anton Corbijn on the stage designs, which gave a continuity from the videos, adds Dave Gahan. It was definitely felt like one of our strongest tours - both musically and visually.

Best of... 13. November

Den 13. November udsender Depeche Mode et opsamlingsalbum, kaldet "Depeche Mode - The Best of Volume 1". I begyndelsen af samme måned vil en single blive udgivet med den helt nye sang "Martyr".

Hugely influential and hailed by Q magazine as "the most popular electronic band the world has ever known", Depeche Mode follow 25 incredibly successful years of sublime, superlative electronica with their first ever Best Of collection released on Mute on November 13th.

Brimming with 17 hit singles that span their incredible and varied career, this eagerly anticipated album also contains the brand new track 'Martyr' which pulses with their relentlessly energetic sound and it sits immaculately amongst their luminous history. Martyr will be released as a single early November.

Fede skrifttyper

Raphmode har lavet et website med nogle helt specielle skrifttyper. Dette website er ret genialt, hvis man kunne tænke sig at få fat i de skrifttyper, som er blevet brugt i layout til Depeche Modes mange forskellige singler og albums. Og de helt nye - som fx. Suffer Well - er også med.

Depeche Mode's 'Touring The Angel' was one of the most successful, highly grossing and critically acclaimed tours of the last year. Hailed as the greatest live performances of their career, it can be re-lived from September 25th when it's released as a special edition 3-disc set, featuring the full-length live show and a host of exclusive extras on two DVDs and a live audio CD.

Directed by Blue Leach, who has previously worked with R.E.M, it was recorded at Milan's Fila Forum on February 18th and 19th 2006 and sees the band at their live best with a pulsing sound, electric stage presence and ecstatic audience.

"Touring the Angel was probably the most enjoyable, rewarding live show we've ever done", says Dave Gahan. "The new material was just waiting to be played live. It took on a life of its own. With the energy of the crowds, it just came to life"

"It had been four years since the last tour, so we were ready to take the album on the road" adds Andy 'Fletch' Fletcher. "For us, everything came together - it was one of our definitive live moments, especially as we got to perform older, equally special tracks."

The first DVD features over 20 stunning live songs, including the recent hit singles 'Precious', 'A Pain That I'm Used To', 'Suffer Well' and 'John The Revelator' plus the definitive 'Just Can't Get Enough', 'I Feel You', 'Enjoy The Silence' and many more.

DVD2 features a range of exclusive extras, including: two bonus live songs - 1986's smash-hit 'A Question of Lust' and 'Playing The Angel's 'Damaged People' - plus a 20-minute documentary featuring Anton Corbijn, who directed the video for 'Suffer Well' and created the tour's six stage screens, which also appear here.

Additionally, the DVD boasts the official tour announcement from Germany, summer 2005, and the previously unreleased 'Playing The Angel' electronic press kit. Meanwhile, the audio CD features over thirty minutes of stunning live tracks from the concert.

The European leg of the world tour followed 24 American dates and featured four UK shows - including two at London's Wembley Arena. It sold-out 69 arena dates throughout 30 countries, with 800,000 tickets sold in Europe alone, and was their first since 2001's 'Exciter', where they played to nearly two million people. In total, Depeche Mode played to 2.5 million people across 31 countries this year.

International sales of 'Playing The Angel' have surpassed two million, seeing them reach Number 1 in eighteen countries, plus Top Ten in the UK, US and Canada. The album has been certified multiple platinum and gold in 20 countries.

Depeche Modes koncert på Rock am Ring kan nu downloades i DVD format (bemærk: dual layer). Koncerten kan hentes via BitTorrent netværket. Torrent-filen findes her. Udover Rock am Ring-koncerten, findes også koncertklip fra Köln 1998, samt Depeche Modes optræden ved MTV Europe Music Awards i 2001.

Live DVD i september

Depeche Mode udsender live DVD'en "Live in Milan" den 25. september. Optagelsen stammer fra to koncerter i Milano hhv. 18. og 19. februar 2006.
